4. Our lawful bases for using personal information
Under UK data protection law, we need a lawful basis for processing personal information.
Depending on the circumstances, we rely on:
Contract – where processing is necessary to enter into or perform a contract with you, such as processing and delivering your order.
Legal obligation – where we need to process or retain information to comply with legal, tax, accounting or regulatory requirements.
Legitimate interests – where processing is reasonably necessary for our legitimate business interests and those interests are not overridden by your rights. This may include improving our services, providing customer support, protecting our business, preventing fraud and maintaining appropriate business records.
Consent – where you have actively consented to particular processing, such as certain marketing communications, analytics, advertising or non-essential cookies and similar technologies.
Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.
5. Cookies, analytics and session recording
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the website to function, including technologies used for security, checkout, shopping basket functionality and remembering essential choices.
With your consent where required, we may also use optional technologies for:
- analytics and understanding how visitors use the website;
- personalisation;
- marketing and advertising; and
- website improvement, including session replay or similar interaction analytics.
We currently use Propel Replays to help us understand how visitors interact with our website. Session replay may record interactions such as navigation, clicks and scrolling. We configure this service to respect applicable customer privacy choices and to avoid intentionally recording sensitive customer information.
You can accept, decline or manage optional cookies and technologies through the cookie controls displayed on our website. You can change your preferences later using the available privacy or cookie controls.
Necessary technologies may still operate where they are required for the website or a service you have requested to function.
The ICO confirms that non-essential cookies and similar technologies generally require an appropriate consent mechanism, while strictly necessary technologies can fall within an exception.
